Double Seventh Festival Celebration:

Inspire Her & Youth Perspectives

To honour the cultural depth and evolving spirit of the Double Seventh Festival (Qixi), our celebration unfolds through two interlinked exhibitions and a series of interactive programs held across July and August 2025. While rooted in traditional East Asian values of craftsmanship, love, and perseverance, this celebration reinterprets the festival’s meaning to reflect on female strength, generational connection, and the search for identity.

Our theme recognises that womanhood is not defined by any single role — women are daughters, mothers, artists, and independent individuals. Equally, we believe that youth creativity plays a crucial role in cultural continuity, reflecting not only where we come from, but where we are heading.

Talk & Exhibition

Organised by the Australia Women and Children Protection and Development (AWCPD) and the Creative Asia Foundation (CAF), and proudly supported by the Victorian State Government, World Trade Centre, Artspie, and Asia Media, the Inspired Her Talk & Exhibition aims to celebrate and amplify women’s voices through artistic expression. This initiative invites artists to honour personal stories, cultural heritage, social issues, and emotional landscapes unique to womanhood. It seeks to foster dialogue, inspire connection, and empower women’s perspectives within the community and beyond.
